London to Australia
On the London to Australia expedition, imagine a 6-month journey which takes you to 25 countries and that gives you a chance to explore and experience the culture of Europe, the history of the ancient Silk Road, the wild and whacky countries of Central Asia, the mighty mountains of the Himalayas, the sacred city of Lhasa in Tibet, wander the mainland and islands of South East Asia and the wonders of Malaysia and finally finish up in Darwin Australia, the ideal stepping-off point to explore Australia. South America
South America is an incredible continent, offering so much from volcanoes to glaciers, jungle to high altitude grass lands, wildlife and wild Carnival, fascinating cultures and all the adventure activities you could ever want. If you want to experience a huge part of South America up close and personal, this is the trip to do. A 6 month expedition covering Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, and with the option to visit Paraguay, Uruguay and the Galapagos Islands. Kathmandu to Istanbul
Kathmandu and Istanbul are two of the world’s greatest cities – so why not travel overland between them? If you are looking for a slightly shorter Odyssey, we offer a 12-week expedition via the Himalayas and the Silk Road. From funky Kathmandu in Nepal we will travel into Tibet and China, into the wilds of Kyrgyzstan, then via the spectacular and fascinating Silk Road cities of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, experience Georgian hospitality, and finally finish up in Istanbul, the meeting place of European and Asian cultures. Trans-Africa Cape to Cairo
If Africa is what tickles your fancy, you can choose to start either in the fairest Cape or the manic but magic Cairo. This journey will see us visiting 15 countries over 20 weeks. From amazing wildlife in some of the greatest wildlife reserves in the world, exotic tribes with fascinating cultures, tropical islands, historic ruins and churches, diving, hiking, rafting, walking with lions, even a visit to Nelson Mandela’s home town, this route has so much to offer! We travel at a pace which allows us to appreciate the places we visit and whereever possible we get off the well beaten track that all the others follow and show you the special hidden gems that we have found over the years. We travel in true Overland style, and while we rough it when we need to, we know that the little luxuries can make all the difference; like amazing food, a well-designed comfortable truck with coach seats, a comfortable camp setup to make camping a pleasure, not to mention nice hotels along the way. We are an owner operated tour company, and we believe in the personal touch – all our expedition members are part of the Odyssey family, not just another booking. All of this may make us a bit more expensive, but on a journey of a lifetime it’s worth doing it properly.
