The Kitty of £1540 is paid into a central fund on the day of departure. This is not an optional amount. This must be paid in cash in full on the day of departure in either Pound Sterling or if US$ or Euros at the exchange rate of the day. You will be informed before departure what currency to pay your kitty in. It funds accommodation, camp meals, local guides and activities etc that the group take part in as a whole. This is monitored by the expedition members and the group leader. This amount has been calculated as accurately as possible, but will be updated 2 weeks prior to departure, no increase is expected but due to the long lead time before departure it is impossible to be 100% sure. Due to local inflation, costs vary throughout the year. In the unlikely event of an increase this is expected to be by less than £100.
